- It's marathon weekend! I refuse to let the Supreme Court sabotage the weekend so I am remaining purposefully in my own bubble. It's summer, too! It started on Tuesday - the rain stopped, the sun came out, it's 85 degrees. I refuse to let anything ruin this. It's worth passing along, though, something an old friend posted, about how it wasn't all that long ago that women weren't allowed to participate in marathons because long-distance running might ruin our fragile uteruses (there are still people, including women, who think running isn't good for our "insides") and now, having been given the opportunity, we are doing incredible things - look at women ultra-runners! And the fuck if we're going back to the dark ages.
