- Did you know that Edmund Pettus was a grand dragon in the Ku Klux Klan? And in 1940, after the guy had been dead a few decades, someone decided to name a bridge after him? You probably already did know that, but I didn't. Why should that guy have a bridge named after him? Gross. That's not defensible.
