So... there are plenty of things to do while your best dog friend and your best human friend are gone, aren't there. You can exchange text messages on the telephone, for example. Or look at the news on the internet. Or get duped into looking at the "news" on the internet and get annoyed at how the article "25 Side-By-Sides Of Actors In 2007 And 2017 That Are Actually Shocking" 1. exists, and presumably made some dipshit some money, 2. has a title in up style, as if that would lend Some Air Of Legitimacy To It, and 3. isn't shocking. For fucks sake! Some of them look the same, some of them look better, a couple of them look like they've aged a little. Why the fuck does stupid shit like this even exist? And supported by an ad that says: "Angelina Jolie's new go-to travel shoe is surprisingly affordable". What happened with her previous go-to travel shoe, and how does a "go-to travel shoe" differ from a "come-from travel shoe" or whatever the opposite of a "go-to" shoe would be? What is a go-to shoe? Jesus. I know not to click on stupid gossipy shit like this but it was even stupider than I was expecting.

You know, if the internet does turn into some idiotic tiered-pay thing like the net neutrality doomsayers are saying, fuck it, who the fuck cares. I just won't internet anymore. It's turned into a stupid time-suck that's turning everyone into lazy narcissists with a tenuous grip on reality, and it lets us give in to our cheapest and worst tendencies - laziness and narcissism, bandwagon outrage, unyielding yet ill-informed opinions, name-calling, rigid hyper-partisanship, and etc. etc. etc. The internet used to be weird and interesting and homemade (like diaryland!), and now it's not.

Oh but anyway. I didn't intend to go off on an anti-internet rant. I'm just gonna go take a bath right now.
