- Managed to score a window seat when I checked in in Auckland. For both trans-pacific flights there was no one in the middle seat. Which, frankly, didn’t seem to help me sleep any more comfortably. Or probably did but I haven’t experienced in many years the pleasure of a long flight with a random stranger two inches away from me, so I can’t compare the two really. Am now on another 777 flying to the middle of America. Unfortunately my right ear is still unpopped. That’s a weird feeling. And I still won’t believe I’m flying back to winter until I get there tonight. It’s sunny and warm in LA.
