I neglected to celebrate this diary's 17th birthday almost a month ago. Diaryland. So cool in 1999, and here we are in 2016, just a few stragglers left, and one of these days the domain name registration will expire and Andrew, wherever he is, won't renew it, and it'll become a porn site. And life will go on.

I've said this before - after 17 years you're bound to repeat yourself a bit, and even repeat repeating yourself, which I believe I'm doing right now - but for whatever reason this is the only bloggy thing I like. I've started a million other blogs with other hosts but this is the only one I write in regularly.

I suppose I should try to find that program I got a year or two ago to download all of the pages in this diary, to get backups of all the ones I've written since the last time I did that. Although, maybe, when diaryland goes away, it would be better for all this to disappear into the ether. But that's hard to imagine.

Good thing of the day: Got my new turntable! Listening to it right now! It works! It's so shiny and beautiful! Got the tonearm balanced and everything set and me gusta mucho.
