Back in town, from my weekend away. My weekend away didn't turn out to last as long as I was hoping it would last. I saw a bear on the way there, ran right across the road in front of me, water spraying off of it from the swim it had taken across the flooded ditch to get to the highway. Largish, for a black bear. I looked for it on the way back but he wasn't there.

There are lilacs blooming like a motherfucker here. I should go unpack my car and cut some lilacs for my room tonight, heavy with rain though they are.
