Contentment (or whatever): tea, crossword puzzle, music.

Problem: can't get up before 8:30.

Culprit: not going to bed before 12:30.

Newly-discovered accomplice: Sleepytime tea with valerian.

Solution: go to bed before 12:30, and drink the tea before then too, say, 10:00.

Birthday: today is my grandma's birthday, the one who died last year. I've never remembered it any other year - except last year, we sent her a postcard from Costa Rica. Don't know if she got it.

Quandary: my grandma was the cutest sweetest lady ever. And what am I?

Squall: contentment from tea and crossword puzzles? Am I becoming gooey? It's been almost two years since I wrote this. Two years? What?
