Gonna go lay down in a second, good night
Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 - 22:39

Things at work are the pits and today was just sad. I won't go into it any more than that.

I am disappointed with adulthood. When I was a kid I thought once you became an adult you'd be super "adult", but no one is. There's just a bunch of loud incompetent nincompoops in charge of everything.

I've been thinking about giving up on intransitive 'lie'. The writing's on the wall, guys. It doesn't help at all that 'lie''s past tense is 'lay'. 'lay' is everywhere. Our descendants will all be saying 'lay' and will make fun of the old fuddy-duddies stubbornly telling their dogs to lie down. It's hard to give up on, but honestly there's no reason for us to keep this silly transitive/intransitive distinction. So let it be 'lay'.

Anyway, I believe the reason the puppy sometimes doesn't lay down is because he's waiting for the object. "Lay what down, guys?" he's trying to say. But we never answer and he gets in trouble for not obeying. Poor grammar-stickler pup.
