Soup problems, book club, fog

I am heating up some frozen soup and it's taking longer than I ever thought possible. I don't know why. Why? I suppose this is why the microwave oven became so popular.

I am reading The Fashionable Adventures of Joshua Craig by David Graham Phillips and you should too. It will be our Devember book club book. You can get it for free online because it was published over 100 years ago. Here's what's happened so far: Joshua Craig has put on a ripped shirt, and then he and his friend have gone to a party in an electronic brougham. Joshua Craig has decided that he needs a wife, AND THEN at the party his friend runs into a female friend who decides she needs a husband! I am hoping that "fashionable adventures" is early 20th century code for literary porn. The author was murdered because of this book, but I don't think it's actually going to turn out to be risqu� at all. Although someone has said "damn it" already.

It is very foggy here, which never happens, so we are pretending we're in London.

Going to check on that slow soup now, bye.
