RUNNING Who wants to hear all about my run this morning?!? You do? Great! 13 miles, basically a half marathon minus a tenth of a mile. I forgot to start my watch at the beginning, like a minute and a half, but ended at 1:47 - so, like 1:48:something, we'll say 1:49. This on a gravel road with an incline on the first half (=slower than the race course). You recall, of course, that my race time last year was 1:51, which was a huge surprise to me. The 13-mile training run we did last year, my time was 2:03. 14, 15 minutes faster this year. !!! Here are my mile splits!!!!: 7.18 (+1.30=8.48?), 8.55, 8.46, 8.43, 8.41, 8.30, 8.38, 8.05, 8.13, 8.07, 7.52, 7.58, 7.34. Please note how I got faster as the run went on. Please also note the last three miles!!! My goal time for this year is 1:45 or 1:47. Maybe 1:46. I don't want to set myself up for failure, I want to be realistic, but I'm also pleasantly surprised by my pace on these training runs. Duuuuuuuude. Thank you for listening.
