It's the mystique of the boy. This happens all across America. He grows up, he goes off to college, he comes home for Christmas. He leaves home with the expectations of the entire town - football baseball swimming - and here he is and my oh my. Look at him, look at his haircut, his clothes, the way he stands, the way he holds a beer. Fall in love with him - this is the boy grown up. This is the boy who has gone to college and learned new things, booze sex drugs, this is your boy.

This is the boy you'll fall in love with. He is somewhere in the middle of America, at some college. He meets girls, he punches walls for them - your heart dies a little when you hear of his love dramas. His college girlfriend, imagine the times they had in the middle of America, booze sex drugs, all your boy.

This is the boy - he will finish school and move to the other side of the country, another big city. He will dress business casual and oh my god. His pink shirt, his smile - he will meet some girl from somewhere, she will make his whole face light up, she will fall in love with him.

This boy, his smooth skin, his hands, his tattoo, she will kiss his neck and it will turn red but his eyes his mouth - she will look into his eyes and smile and his whole face will smile back.

This boy, he is just a boy, and who can say what he wants? With the hopes of a town on his back, with the desires of a hundred girls in his mind - the entire country and his parents want to know but he doesn't know himself and soon very soon he will implode in front of our eyes and what will we do then? What will America do then?

Christmastime, he'll go home again. See how well he holds his beer, see his new jacket, the cuffs of his pants. His hair, the looks he shoots at you. This is our boy. Enjoy him while you can.

Soon he will turn 26 and the country has moved on to other boys. Our hopes our dreams. Boys. They grow up, they break your heart - this happens everywhere, every year, in every bar in every town - it's happening tonight, it will happen tomorrow night, it will happen again next year.

Go home honey and remember: the country has moved on to other boys, just like it moved on from you. What was so special about this one? Besides everything. Tell me.
