Fun with missiles
Tuesday, October 15, 2002 - 21:08

Last night there was a missile launch from a nearby military base. Mr. Pooh had just left for guitar class when he called me and told me to go look at the sky. So I went outside, and up in the sky to the west was this weird orangey swishy cloud type thing, with a blueish fog thing to the left, glowing in the dark sky. It was kind of pretty.

It's weird that they can just do that without telling anyone. The missile could malfunction or something and we could all be in danger, but we wouldn't even know.

It's also kind of creepy. It's so unnatural and eerie. I'm not particularly anti-innovation, but things like that are unnatural and I'm not sure if we should be fucking around with it.

And it's weird that a whole bunch of normal everyday people that I don't even know in Iraq will probably be killed by someone they'll never see, who will never even see them, will just push a button and wipe out a bunch of lives, all because one guy wants to go to war.

Not that war has ever been humane, but the kind of war we have now is more dehumanized than it should be.

And that sucks.
