- July 7, 2021, that old familiar smell blowing in on the hot, dry air - smoke. Yesterday, July 6, a fire started on the hill north of town. I could have seen it from my office window, if I'd looked out. July 6, 2021, someone I've known my entire life flew to Haiti - picked a heck of a day to go to Haiti. July 3, 2021, swimming in the lake, the water is as warm as it gets during the hottest of our modern Augusts. For a second I think, what is happening to the world? but we know what's happening. The horrific part is that what we knew would happen is actually happening.
